Millions of People Performing into the Void

Social media may be one of the most anti-social environments ever created. Like a giant festival where a few are on stage and everyone else wanders in noise. You are only seen if you fall onto the stage by accident — or if someone important points at you.

Millions of People Performing into the Void

Social media may be one of the most anti-social environments ever created.

It creates anxiety easily. It destroys morale easily. It is easy to get lost inside it.

Sometimes you cannot even find the people you are already looking for.

Even if you want to listen carefully, you often cannot hear anyone clearly.

And if you want to survive there financially, you slowly start feeling pressure to sacrifice parts of your personality.

The closest real-world equivalent might be a giant festival.

A few people are on stage. Everyone else is wandering around in noise and confusion.

You are only seen if you accidentally fall onto the stage — or if somebody important points at you and says: "Look at this strange interesting person."

Meanwhile millions of people are standing alone in different corners, performing into the void.

Artists. Mad people. Spectators. Everyone mixed together.
