Why Avatar Movies Leave No Mark
Nobody cared. There was no lead actor or protagonist people could identify with. No solid character, no attitude, nothing to bond with. I watched all the movies wanting to like them, and I still couldn't care less. I don't even remember what they were trying to say.
People start a story by caring about who it happens to—or in rare cases, by caring deeply about the storyteller. Here, neither existed.
Every detail is clearly crafted with huge effort, but the storytelling feels like a wildlife documentary or a National Geographic episode about a remote tribe. It leaves almost no emotional mark. Nobody finishes it thinking, "I have to tell my friends how this made me feel." You just watch it half-asleep and move on.
So even though all the Avatars try so hard to be powerful and impressive, and even though incredibly talented people worked on them, it's normal that they've had less cultural impact than something like Avengers.
Spectacle without character is just noise.
